Automated Assembly and Test Systems |

Successful automation projects depend on doing the right things in the right order. Here are a few steps we have found essential to ensure success. |
How We Can Help |
Once we have a complete understanding of your needs, you will receive a thorough proposal explaining in detail what we expect to provide. Only then will you have the information you need to evaluate whether or not we are the best fit for your project. |
Thorough Proposals |
We design in SolidWorks® 3D design software, often incorporating 3D simulations for robotics applications. Prior to us ordering materials or beginning fabrication, we will ask you to participate in a detailed review of the mechanical concept design for your project. Your approval will indicate we agree on the basic concept. It will, of course, remain our responsibility to work out the details and ensure the design performs as promised. We can conduct these reviews on-line, via eDrawings, or face-to-face as best meets your needs. |

Mechanical Design Review |
No matter how skilled the designs, they remain nothing more than ink on paper until skilled craftsmen cut the materials, fabricate the components, and assemble and wire the devices. There is no substitution for skill and experience in these tasks. |

Successful automation projects result from a team effort. The team will have members from your organization as well as ours. Strong project management ensures the team works together toward the common goal. Our project manager oversees all aspects of the project, keeping everyone regularly informed of the project’s progress and status, and ensuring ongoing communication to anticipate and resolve any problems that might arise. |

If you are just looking for a quotation, we are probably not for you. We know that success for you, and for us, begins with a thorough understanding of your automation needs. Before we invest the resources needed to prepare a proper proposal, we will ask questions...lots of questions...to make sure we understand what you want and need and to make sure that what we propose will best fit your needs. |
Pre-bid Consultation |
Controls design is a critical but often overlooked element of automation design. Before we order materials or begin electrical panel fabrication or programming, we will submit a controls design specification for your review. While the design is on paper is the time to make changes. Again, your approval will indicate we agree on the basic concepts. It will be our responsibility to provide sound controls design and programming. |

“Debug” applied to automation is a two-part process. First, our skilled tradesmen communicate closely with the designers to resolve questions and problems that arise during fabrication. Second, the machine must run a sufficient number of parts to allow engineers and builders to observe fit and function, spot any problems, and fine-tune the machine’s operation. Debug MUST happen. It is relatively easy and efficient on our floor; it is difficult and expensive on your floor. We will insist on a reasonable quantity of parts and insist on a reasonable amount of time in the schedule for proper debug. You WILL thank us later. |

Thorough Debug |

The time will come when you take ownership of the machine. You will need complete documentation. We will provide mechanical drawings, electrical and pneumatic schematics, programming, complete bills of material, maintenance schedules, and operating instructions. Our goal is to provide everything you will need to operate and properly maintain your machine. |
